Total determinism is the only logical explanation for everything that has happened before, everything that is happening now, and everything that will happen next. There is no freedom of choice at all.
However, people need to hold on to the idea of freedom of choice in order to function properly and avoid losing their minds.
Even in a reality governed by total determinism, we shouldn’t remain stagnant and passively wait for what happens next—because we are unable to calculate or consider an infinite number of variables. This makes our theoretical knowledge somewhat “useless.” Knowledge, without the ability to act on it, cancels itself out.
